Clarity processes meeting audio to generate transcriptions and summaries. We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with applicable privacy regulations including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, authentication credentials
- Meeting audio: Temporarily processed for transcription, then automatically deleted
- Transcriptions and summaries: Generated text from your meetings
- Usage data: Meeting duration, processing times, consent records
- Audit logs: Activity records for security and compliance
Third-Party Processors
We use the following third-party services to process your data:
PDPA Compliance (Singapore)
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, we ensure:
- Explicit consent is obtained before recording any meeting
- Audio is deleted immediately after transcription (no retention)
- You can access, export, or delete your personal data at any time
- Consent records are maintained with timestamps for audit purposes
GDPR Compliance (EU/EEA)
For users in the European Economic Area, we additionally ensure:
- Lawful basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) for audio processing
- Right to erasure: Delete your account and all associated data
- Right of access: Export all personal data in structured format
- Data portability: Export available in DOCX and JSON formats
- Data minimization: Only essential data is collected and retained
Data Retention
- Audio files: Deleted immediately after transcription
- Meeting notes: Retained for 90 days, then automatically purged
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Audit logs: Retained for compliance purposes
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Export all your personal data from Account Settings
- Rectification: Update your name and account details
- Erasure: Permanently delete your account and all data
